Pinky St. Custom: Sakura by Asphydel Pinky St. Custom: Sakura by Asphydel
Pinky St. is a series of small figurines from Japan that can be taken apart to mix and match various outfits and hairstyles. [Link]

It has become popular to make mods of existing Pinkies by repainting pieces to make brand new looks and characters. Some people take it beyond just simple modding to make complete customs, which is what I've done here...

I started by making molds of the pieces I wanted to use (the legs, torso, head and hair), then filled the molds to get the actual parts. Hurray for taking a class in 3d art while I was in school, it helped a lot during this process!

Once the pieces were dry, I sanded them and put them together to make the basic model. Using a variety of clays and epoxys, along with other material, I filled out the figure into the character I wanted.

This here is Sakura, the title character in the anime series Cardcaptor Sakura (still my all time favorite anime ever!). The fun thing about this show is that Sakura always has a new and interesting outfit in each episode. By far my favorite is this costume from the intro in the second movie.

Some of you may remember that I also made the costume as a cosplay to wear at local conventions. ^_^

She stands on a base with a printed image of her magical star. Many thanks to :iconmondu: for allowing me use of his recreated version of it so I didn't have to draw it out myself!

If you are interested in commissioning me for your own Pinky custom, please get in touch with me via email. Please keep in mind that due to the complicated process and time it takes, that these will run no less than $50 per figure. Prices based on level of difficulty.

(They don't have to be related to games or anything, they can be your own creations too!)

I loved Card-captor Sakura so much when i was little, in fact I still love it!
I so want to cosplay her outfit here, is it hard to make? I can't find any pictures of it either, thats whats making this hard. Really cute figure though. Inspiring.

Hehe, it's still my fav too. ^_^

I guess the difficulty comes from whether or not you know what you are doing. Sewing is more of a hobby for me and it was the first costume I ever did, so I thought it was a bit hard. A lot of trial and error. But if you know bit about all the stuff, it may be a lot easier for you!

Try doing searches for the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie. It only appears for the first few mins in the opening, so there really aren't a lot of good pics. I did manage to find some really nice big ones from a magazine or something, though I don't remember where. It was a couple years ago.

If you do make it, let me know, I'd love to see!

About 4 months maybe. I started late last year, November or December, but put them away for a couple months when I moved.

Thanks for the comment and fav!

=D Adorable! I really like how all the Pinkies have turned out  I think Sakura's my favorite. She's so detailed, and her hat is spifftastic.

Heehee. She was the first one I finished actually, though her hat was a pain until I thought to use fabric and paint it. ^_^ Now she can almost stand on her own without toppling backwards!
